Docs / Getting started

Examples and templates

Start from a working flow instead of a blank page.

On this page

Every example and template opens in the editor as your own copy. Change anything; nothing you do affects the original.

Examples

ExampleWhat it showsOpen
OAuth 2.0 authorization codeThe full sign-in flow with PKCE across five lanes, with the redirect parameters, the token request and both success and error responsesOpen
OAuth 2.0 client credentialsA service getting a token and calling an API. This one comes with a recording for the Drift Check demo.Open
Checkout across 12 servicesA large diagram, good for trying lane collapsing and the steps viewOpen
Syntax guideEvery statement, with explanations in notesOpen

The OAuth 2.0 authorization code example is also what the editor shows the first time you open it.

Templates

Templates are complete, realistic flows for popular providers. Each has a page that explains every step at volley.sh/templates.

TemplateOpen
Stripe Checkout with a webhookOpen
Sign in with GitHubOpen
SAML single sign-onOpen
Shopify orders/create webhookOpen
Twilio incoming SMSOpen
Slack slash commandOpen

Linking to an example

Any example or template opens from a link of the form /edit#example=<id>, using the id at the end of the links above. Add &drift to the client credentials example, as in /edit#example=client-credentials&drift, to open it with its recording loaded and the drift check running.

What happens to your draft

Opening an example replaces the draft in the editor. If you had written something, the notice that appears offers Undo, which brings your draft back. Signed in, your earlier work is safe either way: anything you wrote is already saved to your account.
