Collections
A collection is a recipe book: each scenario says when it applies and shows the diagram that handles it.
On this page
A collection is a recipe book of scenarios. Each entry pairs one of your saved diagrams with a scenario name and a When to use it note, so a reader can find the flow that matches their situation: "A user signs in with a passkey", "A refund is partially captured", "The webhook arrives before the redirect".
Collections are made for onboarding guides, integration handbooks, support playbooks, and as context for coding agents.
Create a collection
- Open Collections in the sidebar and click New collection. It is created straight away as "Untitled collection" and opens with the title ready to type.
- Or, from the editor, choose Add to a collection in the Share menu and then New collection with this diagram.
Changes save automatically a moment after you stop typing. The toolbar shows the number of scenarios and whether everything is saved.
Write the introduction
Under the title, introduce the collection: who it is for and how to pick a scenario. Markdown works, and the introduction can be up to 4,000 characters.
Add scenarios
There are three ways to add a diagram:
- From the collection. Use Add a saved diagram to search your diagrams and pick one.
- Write a new one. Click Write a new diagram. The editor opens with a chip that names the collection; when you are done, click Add to collection to save it and return.
- From the editor. Open a saved diagram, choose Add to a collection in the Share menu and pick the collection. Unsaved diagrams offer Save and add to a collection.
Then give each entry:
- a Scenario name, up to 200 characters. Without one, the diagram's title is shown;
- a When to use it note in Markdown, up to 4,000 characters.
Cards that are missing a name or a note say so, so you can see at a glance what still needs writing.
A diagram can appear in a collection only once, and entries point at the diagram rather than copying it: edit the diagram and every collection that holds it shows the new version.
Reorder and remove
Use the Move earlier and Move later arrows on each card to change the order. To take a scenario out, open it and click Remove. The diagram itself stays in your account.
Share it
Set the collection's visibility in its toolbar:
- Unlisted: anyone with the link can read the collection;
- Private: only you.
Click Copy link to copy its address, which looks like volley.sh/c/ followed by an id. Preview shows exactly what readers see, and Back to editing returns.
Reading a collection
Readers see the introduction and a grid of scenarios, each with its name, the start of its note, and its diagram's title. With five or more scenarios, a Find a scenario box searches names, notes and diagram titles; Enter opens the first match.
Opening a scenario shows its note beside the full interactive diagram, with Previous scenario and Next scenario to move through the book, All scenarios to go back, and Open in the editor to make a copy. Each scenario has its own address, the collection link plus # and the diagram's id, so you can link straight to one.
Give it to an agent
A collection makes good context for a coding agent, because every flow is there with its real requests and responses. Open the collection's More menu:
- Copy link for agents copies an address ending in
.mdthat serves the whole collection as Markdown: the introduction, then each scenario with its note and a full text description of its diagram, payloads included. - Copy a line for CLAUDE.md or AGENTS.md copies a sentence that tells your agent to read that address before working on the integration.
Private collections are not available at those addresses. Agents with an API key can read them, private or not, through the MCP server.
Delete a collection
Choose Delete collection in the More menu and confirm. The diagrams in it stay in your account.
Limits
Pro includes 100 collections with up to 200 scenarios each. If you move from Pro to Free, your collections stay readable and shareable, and you can delete them, but you can no longer edit them.
